Book and pay in advance
Each collection accepts up to two furniture items. Each zone has two collection dates per month. The available dates are given when you book with 311.
Pay with Visa or Mastercard during the phone booking. For cash or debit, book first, then pay at the Customer Care Centre identified by staff. Payment must arrive no later than Friday of the previous week or the booking is cancelled without notice.

Correct placement and missed collection
Items go at the curb, not in the alley. Set them out no earlier than 7 p.m. the previous evening and before 6 a.m. on collection day. A paid booking does not remove this timing requirement.
If correctly placed paid items are left behind, contact 311. If you forget to put them out, the city does not give a refund. Check the official acceptable-items link before booking an item that might not be furniture.

Cancel in time
The original booking person must cancel through 311 by Friday of the week before pickup. After that deadline the city does not issue cancellation refunds. Approved refunds are sent by cheque within 30 days.
Items outside the furniture program may need the Public Drop Off or Household Chemical Waste Depot. Those services have their own rules and charges.
