App or reloadable card
Select Transit Windsor in the Umo Mobility app, create an account and add stored value or a pass. The app works without mobile data once you are signed in. Have the dynamic QR code open and turn up screen brightness before boarding.
A new Umo card costs $6; a replacement costs $10. Purchase a card at Windsor International Transit Terminal, 300 Chatham Street West. Register its 16-digit number at ca.umopass.com so you can manage the account.

Boarding and payment confirmation
App users scan the QR code at the Umo validator. Card users tap rather than swipe. A green checkmark confirms payment. A yellow checkmark also accepts payment but warns of low value or a soon-expiring product. A red X means the fare was not accepted.
Cash is still accepted, but neither the operator nor farebox can give change. Ask the operator for a transfer. Umo replaces Smart Card passes, with the old cards accepted only through December 31, 2026.

Discounts and support
Senior, youth and Affordable Pass Program discounts need to be added to the account at the transit terminal. After that, they apply to future phone or card purchases, subject to continuing eligibility.
Call 519-944-4111 for Umo help, daily 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. excluding holidays. Older city fare-media pages still describe Smart Cards. This guide uses the current Umo instructions for the transition and does not assume an old fare table covers every new product.
